Modular Pharmacy Architecture for Distributors, Hospitals, and Retail Chains
Retail Pharmacies
Retail Pharmacies typically operate on a single-store model, acting both as a central and sub-store. They can place orders with suppliers, receive stock, and dispense medicines to patients. The software also supports configuration for a chain of retail pharmacies, enabling a central-sub store setup. It offers features to synchronize drug lists, pricing, and transactions across all connected stores, ensuring seamless operations and inventory control.

Pharmacy Distributors
Pharmacy Distributors operate through a network of registered drug stocking points. These include a central store, which manages all key orders, and multiple sub-stores. Sub-stores raise requisitions for required drugs to the central store. The central store consolidates these requests into indents. These indents are forwarded to the purchase department. The purchase team then issues orders to pharmaceutical companies. Once delivered, the central and sub-stores distribute the medicines. Each store serves a specific set of retail pharmacies. This model ensures efficient drug flow across the supply chain. It enables centralized control with decentralized distribution. The structure minimizes delays and improves inventory management.

Hospitals
Hospitals gain significant advantages by integrating the Pharmacy Module with Ashwa, our hospital management software. Here, wards, OTs, and ICUs function as sub-stores linked to a central pharmacy store. The central store handles all requisitions, consolidates them, and places drug orders with suppliers. With integration, doctors or nurses can place drug orders directly from various modules like Nurse Station, Prescription, or OT/ICU using treatment packages. Orders are linked to specific patients and can be processed manually or automatically. If auto-dispensing is enabled, stock is adjusted in real-time. Billing can be configured from either the Pharmacy or Ashwa module. Users can view complete drug details including batch, expiry, MRP, and availability, simplifying order decisions.
